
Gender gap in vaccination drive continues to widen

Men in India have received nearly 1.93 crores more vaccine doses than women, demonstrating the clear gender disparities in the rollout.
On April 15, the gender gap in India’s vaccination programme stood at 8.5 per cent. In other words, nearly nine per cent more men were inoculated than women till the first half of April. The gap widened to 11.3 per cent a month later and further climbed to 17.4 per cent on June 15. This gap remains the same since then.
