Geena Davis Says Those Who Hated Her Poofy 1992 Oscars Dress Can ‘F**k’ Off

The actor, who was nominated at the time for her role in “Thelma & Louise,” thought her very ’80s ensemble was “awesome” — except for one element.
Leave it up to Thelma to be a true ride or die — even if it’s just for a dress.
Geena Davis opened up to Us Weekly in an interview published Wednesday about her controversial 1992 Oscars outfit, which she wore to the ceremony after being nominated for her role in “Thelma & Louise.”
Her outfit was truly in a league of its own.
Davis’ poofy white gown — which was “made specifically” for her by Ruth Meyers and Bill Hargate — has a very overt ’80s prom dress vibe. It included black straps, a silky fitted bodice and a puffy white skirt that’s short in the front and long in the back — just like a beautiful Kentucky Waterfall haircut. From the side, the skirt even looks reminiscent of Falkor from “The Neverending Story.”
The “Beetlejuice” alum paired the dress with white gloves, starkly black pantyhose and chunky shoes.
