Four arrested in Medak as authorities seize 783 bottles of foreign liquor valued at ₹40 lakh during a raid.
The Prohibition and Excise department arrested four persons and seized 783 bottles of contraband foreign liquor worth ₹40 lakh during a raid in Narsapur mandal of Medak district on Tuesday (February 24).
The accused were identified as Abhay Kumar, 41, of Baleshwar town, Odisha; Sheik Nagul Meera, 40, of from Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh; Gundupally Kumara Sai, 25, of West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh; and Konagani Rajesh, 40, of Anantapur district, Andhra Pradesh.
Acting on a tip-off, the enforcement teams raided a location beside M/s Maridi Bio Industries Private Limited at Kagaz Maddur village in Narsapur mandal at around 11.30 a.m. Officials said a total of 783 bottles (750 ml each), amounting to 587.25 litres of foreign liquor, were seized during the raid.
Officials stated that the total value of the seized property is estimated at ₹40 lakh. A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
