Former TMC leader Jitendra Tiwari joins BJP, calls ex-opponent Babul Supriyo 'his leader'

Ahead of the West Bengal assembly polls, former TMC leader Jitendra Tiwari on Tuesday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in presence of party state chief Dilip Ghosh at a programme in Sreerampur in Hooghly district.

On being asked about his alleged differences with Babul Supriyo, Tiwari's former political opponent in Asansol, he said, "I am a worker of BJP now, Babul is my leader as well. I'm not a heavyweight leader, Babul is. We all are like a family and will work together" Refusing to comment on TMC now, the former Asansol Mayor said that it is one's personal's choice to leave and join any party they want.
