Former Haryana Chief Minister and Indian National Lok Dal president Om Prakash Chautala, who was serving a 10-year prison term in a teacher recruitment scam case, was here on Friday, July 2 2021, after completing due formalities, prison officials said. The 86-year-old Chautala, who was already out on parole, reached Tihar on Friday to complete formalities after which he was released from jail, they said. Director General (Delhi Prisons), Sandeep Goel, said, "After necessary formalities, he (Chautala) has been released".The restoration and redevelopment of the decades-old Calve College Government school, a landmark that occupies a prominent place in the city’s history is nearing completion. The Puducherry Smart City Development Limited (PSCDL), which has taken up the restoration, has planned to complete the work by the first week of July. The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) is the architectural consultant for PSCDL, while Puducherry Technological University (PTU) is the structural consultant. The work commenced in August 2021 and costs ₹4.75 crore.
Works are under way to establish smart classrooms equipped with broadband connectivity in as many as 20,000 panchayat union primary schools and to establish hi-tech laboratories with similar Internet connectivity in 6,992 panchayat union primary schools across Tamil Nadu, the Director of Elementary Education (DEE) has informed the Madras High Court.
