Former chairman of Madhya Pradesh Forest Development Corporation Shivshankar Pateria, who came into the limelight after the CD scandal of former Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister Raghavji, allegedly tried to commit suicide by consuming poison on Tuesday night in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, said police.
Shivshankar is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital where Doctor Prateek Pataria said, "Shivshankar Pateria was admitted to the hospital in an unconscious condition. His family members informed us that he had consumed some poison. The treatment has started, but his condition is very serious. He is on a ventilator."

According to the information, 61-year-old Shivshankar Pateria texted his family before consuming poison late on Tuesday night. The family, after receiving the message, went out to look for him and found Shivshankar unconscious in the garden behind the Bihari temple.
He was immediately rushed to Civil Hospital Bina from where he was referred to a private. The police have started investigating the matter.
