
Former AIADMK MLA Arukutty questioned in Kodanad heist and murder case

The former MLA was questioned by the Tamil Nadu special police team on Friday in relation to the murder of a security guard at the premises of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in Kodanad Estate in Nilgiris in 2017.
Former AIADMK MLA VC Arukutty was called in for investigation on Friday in relation to the Kodanad heist-cum-murder case. The case is currently being investigated by special police teams.
Arukutty was questioned at the Special Training centre of the Police in Coimbatore. According to reports, the inquiry started at 12:30pm on Friday.
One of the main accused in the Kodanad murder and heist case, Kanagaraj, who was killed in a road accident, is reported to be an acquaintance of former MLA Arukutty.
Kanagaraj had worked as a driver for Arukutty when the former MLA had come to Chennai.
The investigation is mainly to understand the relationship between the main accused Kanagaraj and former AIADMK MLA Arukutty, sources said.
After an inquiry by the police in the Kodanad heist and murder case, AIADMK former MLA Arukutty said, "Kanagaraj had worked as a driver for me. Officials wanted me to talk about that. I have shared with them all the information I know. He said the officials asked me to just give all the details I knew and I have told them everything I know with honesty. “
On the question of whether he was satisfied with the investigation, MLA Arukutty said that the investigation is going well.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
