The rising water of the river Ganga has displaced hundreds of people from their homes in Varanasi and Bihar. The authorities are now carrying out rescue operations, bringing people back to safety.

The river Ganga has crossed the danger mark leading to several areas submerging under the water in Bihar and Varanasi, leaving thousands of people affected in both states. In Patna, the water level of the Ganges has increased significantly in the last four days, because of which several ghats along the river have been submerged under water. The urban colonies in Varanasi have started getting inundated and boats are plying on city streets.
