Flight crew and a doctor helped a woman deliver a baby onboard an IndiGo flight travelling from Bengaluru to Jaipur.
A baby girl was born mid-air onboard IndiGo's Bengaluru-Jaipur flight (6E 469) on Wednesday morning. The baby was delivered with the help of the flight crew and assisted by a doctor who was also travelling on the same flight. Jaipur airport was informed to arrange for a doctor and an ambulance on arrival for the woman and the baby. "Both the baby and mother are stable. Dr. Subahana Nazir who was also travelling on the flight and helped the delivery, was welcomed into the arrival hall and a 'Thank You' card was handed over by our Jaipur staff," said a statement from the airline.
As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
