Fire breaks out at textile shop on Ranganathan Street in Chennai
A fire broke out at a textile shop located in the commercial hub, Ranganathan Street, in T. Nagar on Monday (May 12, 2025). The employees of the shop were immediately evacuated.
Initial reports said thick smoke billowed from the second floor of the building which housed ‘Shoba Adayagam’, and the staff working on the floor and customers were evacuated.
Following an alert to the fire control room, Fire and Rescue Services personnel were pressed into service and the street was cordoned off.
Personnel from Mambalam, Teynampet, and Ashok Nagar were involved in the firefighting operation. Sources said the fire was under control, and no casualty has been reported so far.
