GRP station in-charge RS Mahajan, said that the man, a resident of Ujjain, had reached New Khedi station along with his three daughters and all four died after being hit by a goods train.
Following the incident, police reached the spot and launched an investigation into the matter. A two-wheeler and school bags were recovered from the spot.
It is being said that the man had left his house on Wednesday morning to take his daughters (one aged 16, others 9-11 years old) to school. It is suspected that he voluntarily jumped in front of the train to end his life due to family issues.
While the bodies have been sent for post-mortem, further investigations are on.
