Farmers' protest: BJP MP Meenakshi Lekhi says those agitating are not farmers but 'mawali'

Meenakshi Lekhi has called the protesting farmers 'mawali' after they reached Jantar Mantar in Delhi to further intensify their agitation against farm laws.

Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) MP Meenakshi Lekhi at a press conference called the protesting farmers 'mawalis' on Thursday. "Don't term them farmers, they are mawali. The country knows what happened on January 26," said BJP MP from New Delhi constituency Meenakshi Lekhi.
