Farhan Akhtar reveals if Dimple Kapadia had rejected Dil Chahta Hai, he was ready to scrap film

As Dil Chahta Hai clocked in 20 years of its release, director Farhan Akhtar wrote heartfelt notes for the film’s cast. He revealed that he might’ve had to scrap the film if Dimple Kapadia had said no to it.

Farhan Akhtar’s directorial debut Dil Chahta Hai clocked in 20 years of its release on August 10. The film is very special to Farhan and on the occasion, he wrote heartfelt notes for the film’s cast and crew on social media, which included Aamir Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Preity Zinta, Dimple Kapadia and Sonali Kulkarni. Farhan revealed that he might’ve had to scrap the film if Dimple had said no to the project. I think if you had said no, I’d probably have had to scrap making the film.
