Eyes on 2024 Lok Sabha polls, Abhishek Banerjee sets target of 10 seats for TMC in Assam

With the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in mind, Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee has set a goal of winning 10 of Assam's 14 parliamentary seats.
As the Trinamool Congress (TMC) prepares to expand its presence in the northeastern states, party MP and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's nephew, Abhishek Banerjee, expressed confidence in his party's ability to win 10 of 14 parliamentary seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
"Assembly elections in Assam are due in four years. But, the Lok Sabha polls will take place in two years. We will fight and win 10 seats out of 14 here," the TMC leader said.
Banerjee also expressed confidence that West Bengal's ruling party would form governments in Tripura and Meghalaya, where assembly elections are scheduled for next year.
"Wherever the TMC has entered, it has fought till the last. We will fight to evict the BJP in two years... I won't budge until we win in this state," said the TMC MP.
Slamming the state government, Banerjee said, "We will fight to the last drop of our blood to oust the oppressive BJP regime in Assam."
Abhishek Banerjee on Wednesday visited Assam to oversee the party’s organisational growth in the state. He inaugurated a party office in Guwahati and met with the leaders of the state unit.
The TMC national general secretary also paid a visit to the Maa Kamakhya Temple and offered prayers.
