
Exclusive: Afghan official confirms Danish Siddiqui was captured and executed by Taliban

An Afghan security forces spokesperson has confirmed that Indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui was captured by the Taliban and executed, he did not die in crossfire.
In the first official confirmation, the spokesperson of Afghan security forces told India Today TV that Pulitzer-winning Indian photojournalist Danish Siddiqui was captured and executed by the Taliban in what was first reported as a death in a crossfire between the Taliban and Afghan forces. Ajmal Omar Shinwari, spokesperson of the Afghan National Defence and Security Forces (ANDSF) gave the first official confirmation that Danish Siddiqui was ‘arrested’ or captured and later executed.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
