Ex-information chief Shailesh Gandhi gets sextortion call, lodges complaint

Former Central Information Commissioner Shailesh Gandhi filed a complaint with the police after he received a sextortion call.
Former Central Information Commissioner Shailesh Gandhi lodged a complaint with the Mumbai Police after he received a call from cyber fraudsters attempting sextortion.
Shailesh Gandhi said that on August 27 at 10 am, he received a video call on WhatsApp from an unknown number. When he answered the call, a girl appeared on the video and started undressing herself.
Shailesh Gandhi said he immediately disconnected the call. He said that he received a message after sometime on WhatsApp but he did not reply.
Two days later, Shailesh Gandhi said he received another anonymous call where a man claimed to be former IPS officer Rakesh Asthana. Shailesh Gandhi said that the caller told him that action would be taken against him. Gandhi then disconnected the call and blocked the number.
Shailesh Gandhi said that on August 30, he reached the nearest Santacruz police station and filed a case. The police registered a case against an unidentified person under sections 385, and 66(E) of IPC.
