Every film is pan-India film: Ranbir Kapoor | Exclusive

Every film is pan-India film: Ranbir Kapoor | Exclusive

India Today
Wednesday, July 06, 2022 12:40:21 PM UTC

Ranbir Kapoor spoke about the concept of pan-India films in an exclusive interaction with IndiaToday.in. The actor will be next seen in Shamshera.

Ranbir Kapoor is relentlessly promoting his upcoming film, Shamshera. Helmed by Karan Malhotra, Shamshera will simultaneously release in Tamil and Telugu languages. In recent times, if a South or Hindi film releases in multiple languages, it is referred to as a pan-India film. During one of the promotional sprees, he said that the term 'pan-India film' is just like other terms which have faded.

For Ranbir Kapoor, Shamshera won't be his only film that will release in multiple languages. His next, Brahmastra too will release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Talking about the very term 'pan-India film', Ranbir told IndiaToday.in, "I think every film is pan-India film. The story of the film, if people like it and is watched by many, then it is known as a pan-India film. When a director is making a film, he is trying to reach out to as many people as he can. If your film is strong and the story is strong, then it won't be only a pan-India film, it will be a pan-world film."

Ranbir further added, "We have heard such terms in the past as well which have faded, like the Rs 100 crore club term. So now, pan-India is a new term. If you make a good film, whether it's small or big, the audience will watch the film."

Shamshera is all set to release on July 22. Apart from Ranbir, the film also features Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt.
