Even if 1000 Modis came to K'tka, it won't work: Ex-CM HD Kumaraswamy

Former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy responded to CM Basavaraj Bommai's earlier statement that he will implement the 'Yogi model' in the state and said it won't work as the BJP is disastrous to the state.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister and JD(S) leader HD Kumaraswamy on Friday said the ‘Yogi model’ will not work in Karnataka and the BJP is a disaster to the state. His remark comes a day after chief minister Basavaraj Bommai said he would follow the 'Yogi Adityanath model' to curb incidents of communal violence if the situation demands.
Karnataka is in turmoil after Praveen Nettaru, a BJP Yuva Morcha member, was hacked to death in Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday.
Kumaraswamy further said, "Even if a thousand Modis come to Karnataka, their model will not work."
Chief Minister Bommai addressed a press conference on Thursday and said, "Yogi Adityanath is the correct chief minister to handle the situation in Uttar Pradesh." He also said that he assured the slain BJP worker's family that strict punishment will be given to the culprits involved.
He also met the family members of Parveen Nettaru and announced a compensation of Rs 25 lakhs for the victim's kin.
Mangalore police on Thursday arrested two people identified as Shafiq Ballere and Zaqir Savanuru, in connection with BJP worker Praveen Nettaru's murder case. Praveen Nettaru was hacked to death with lethal weapons by unidentified people in front of his broiler shop when he was heading home after closing his shop on Tuesday night.
Following the murder, the BJP and Sangh Parivar supporters had turned their angst against the state government, accusing it of not standing up to protect the lives of Hindu workers.
