For Hashmi, the shift is less about personal resurgence and more about an industry-wide evolution. Over the last decade, he shared that storytelling has expanded dramatically, aided by platforms like Netflix and a parallel rise in ambitious theatrical content. “I think we’re going in the right direction. It’s a great time for any actor or creative person with the kind of material that’s out there,” he said.
Taskaree, in particular, ticked every box for him. “When the script was offered to me, it was an actor’s dream,” he said, calling the show’s world “novel, unheard of, unseen on screen.”
