Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's defamation trial has been nothing less than a soap opera. From leaked audio files to Depp's disturbing comments about 'burning' and 'f**king' Amber's 'corpse', we heard horrific and weird stories about the ex-couple's past life. The actors faced off with each other in Fairfax, Virginia Court over a USD 50 million defamation suit filed by Depp against the Aquaman actress. During the court hearing, Elon Musk's name also cropped up, and it had nothing to do with him buying Twitter. It was reported that the billionaire will also be appearing to testify in the defamation case. But what has Elon Musk got to do with the court case, and how is he connected to Amber and Johnny?

The defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard is one of the most controversial events in the world of entertainment right now. Some known and some unknown details surrounding the ex-couple have emerged in the sensational statements made by their lawyers. Elon Musk also became a part of the hearing and, as per a TMZ report, he was called in as a witness to testify on behalf of Heard.

For the unversed, Elon and Amber Heard were in a relationship for some time after her split from Johnny Depp. Musk and Heard broke up in 2017 after a year of their relationship. The pair rekindled their love in 2018 but called it quits once again after a few months. During the recent trial, Depp's lawyers showed footage of Heard having late-night "meetings" with Musk.

The Pirates of the Caribbean star had a different version. He alleged in his lawsuit that Heard and Musk were in a relationship 'no later than a month after their marriage', which was held in February 2015.

Elon Musk has been in the news over the past week for, well, buying Twitter. And, as shocking as it may sound, Elon Musk has also been in the news for being a part of the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard case trial. His name was in fact dragged into the trial by Johnny Depp, who accused him of having an affair with Heard during his 2020 libel case in the UK. According to court documents, Musk had a secret threesome with Heard and model-actress Cara Delevingne at Depp's apartment in Los Angeles in 2016. This happened when Johnny was away shooting in Australia. It was also alleged that Amber's affair with SpaceX entrepreneur Musk started before she split with Depp in May of that year.

However, the tech billionaire later refuted the claims. "Cara and I are friends, but we've never done intimate things, she'll confirm... I want to confirm again that Amber and I only started dating about a month after filing for divorce. I was never close to her during her marriage," Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and presently the owner of Twitter, told Page Six of his connection with Heard.
