Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur has urged PM Modi to hold a function in the state to mark the eight years of NDA government at the Centre.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Himachal Pradesh to mark the eight years of the NDA government at the Centre on May 31.
“Under Modi ji’s leadership, the BJP has completed eight years in the Centre. I have requested him to come to Himachal Pradesh to mark the occasion. The PM has heard my request and I believe he will come to Himachal and we will organise a big event to mark the event in Himachal,” the CM said.
While speaking to India Today, CM Jai Ram Thakur also spoke about other trending issues.
On May 9, Khalistan flags were found tied to the main gate and boundary wall of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly in Dharamshala along with graffiti showing pro-Khalistan slogans.
The CM said, “We have taken the issue of the Khalistani flag outside the assembly complex in Dharamshala quite seriously. An SIT was constituted to investigate the matter, and within three days we arrested one suspect in the case. The others involved in the incident will be arrested soon. Strict action will be taken against them.”
When asked about recent Khalistani activities and threats issued by Sikh for justice, the CM said, “We are trying to find who is behind this chain of events. Specifically, in recent times, the morals of certain groups of people have increased after a change in power in a specific state (indicating Punjab). A chain of events has been happening ever since. All these incidents need to be minutely investigated.”
“There is a conspiracy to disrupt peace, and it will be dealt with by an iron hand,” the CM said.
