Eight Mangalureans stranded in Dubai are set to return on March 4 amid ongoing international flight cancellations.
Eight members of two families from Mangaluru, who are stuck in Dubai (UAE) due to the Israel-US-Iran conflict, are expected to board return flights on March 4.
Also, a person from Belthangady in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka, has sought help for return of his 28-year-old relative stranded in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia).
Shrinath P. Shetty, 41, from Mangaluru called on March 1 from Dubai seeking help for returning to the city. He is safely housed in Deira, along with his family members — Sadhika Shetty, 37, and Shiriya, 8. The three had travelled to to Dubai on a visiting visa.
Kasturi Sadashiva Pai, 65, from Surathkal, and his relatives — Kasturi Sandhya Pai, 59, Kasturi Subrahmanya Pai, 27, Kattingeri Prathibha Nayak, 71, and Shashank Shashidar Nayak, 32 — are stranded in Dubai following cancellation of flights. They were on a tour to Dubai, and were scheduled to return on March 5.
Mangaluru City North MLA Y. Bharath Shetty said he has spoken to family members of Kasturi Sadashiva Pai. “They are all safe and are expected to board a return flight on March 4,” he told The Hindu.
Sources in the State Disaster Management Authority said Shrinath Shetty and his family were also expected to board a return flight to Mangaluru on March 4.
