The West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday morning in connection with its investigation into the alleged teacher recruitment scam.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is unhappy with West Bengal Commerce and Industries Department minister Partha Chatterjee being admitted to state-run SSKM hospital. ED has filed a petition in Calcutta High Court and has demanded an immediate hearing on the issue.
The Enforcement Directorate wants Chatterjee to be admitted to an army-run command hospital. A special hearing may take place today in the High Court.

He was arrested after being questioned for over 24 hours in connection with an alleged recruitment scam in state-run schools. He was later produced before a court.
Soon after, his close aide Arpita Mukherjee was also arrested by the Enforcement Directorate, a day after Rs 20 crore in cash was recovered from her Kolkata residence.

Nothing else explains Mamata Banerjee’s silence on Partha Chaterjee, her close confidant, now in jail, except an admission of the crime, when she had hit the road to defend a police officer! Mamata may be trying to distance herself from Partha, but their association is well know.
