Joey Helms' drone captured the exact moment it fell right into the volcano's caldera. The clip has gone crazy viral on social media.
YouTuber and drone operator Joey Helms lost his brand new DJI FPV drone while it was hovering over an erupting Icelandic volcano. The drone captured the exact moment it fell right into the volcano's caldera. The footage captured is of Iceland's newest volcano, Fagradalsfjall in the Geldingadalir valley. Fagradalsfjall is a shield volcano on the Reykjanes Peninsula, which is 40 km away from Reykjavík, Iceland. It started erupting on March 19, 2021, and continues to emit fresh lava. The aerial footage shows lava flowing out from the volcano and it is every bit mesmerising. Seems like my video went full throttle! More on my YouTube channel pic.twitter.com/RzrRniXxPu Speaking to The National, Joey Helms said that flying a drone above an erupting volcano is very tricky. "Around the volcano you have hot gasses that emit turbulence all around it and hot rocks raining on you. Flying these things is tricky,” the YouTube said. The video was shared by Joey on May 26, 2021 on YouTube. It already has 150,664 views. Watch the video here:
Legal immigration to the US in 2025 has seen one of its sharpest declines since the pandemic. About 2,50,000 fewer visas in total were issued compared to 2024, reported The Washington Post. The drop has been global, but India stands out as one of the worst affected, alongside China. Visa approvals for the two countries fell by a combined 84,000.

Oil and gas refineries and hubs are up in flames not just in the Middle East, but also in Russia and the US. Crude oil prices have surged over $100 a barrel. With the energy infrastructure in the Middle East likely to take years to be rebuilt, the world could be set for the biggest oil disruption in history.
