Doctor brainwashed my daughter to have plastic surgery, says Chethana Raj's father

Father of Kannada television actor Chethana Raj, who died of complications following cosmetic surgery, said a clinic doctor brainwashed her for money.
Days after a botched plastic surgery led to the death of Kannada television actor Chethana Raj, her father has now alleged that a clinic doctor brainwashed his daughter for money.
Speaking to India Today, Raj's father Varadaraj said, "We got to know that they don't have a license today. I don't know how they were allowed to function. The doctor brainwashed her just for money. This amounts to murder and such a thing should not happen to anyone again. Her friends signed her up for the surgery. We were not informed."
"After she got some breathing issues they [friends] took her to Kaade hospital but attempts to resuscitate her failed. This happened due to the negligence of the doctor. It was a murder. They took one to one and a half lakhs. We lost both our money and our daughter. We were dependent on her. We don't know how many more people face a similar situation like us."

On May 18, Bengaluru District Health Officer confirmed that the private clinic, where Chethana Raj underwent 'fat free' surgery, did not have the necessary licence to perform cosmetic surgery.
DHO Dr Srinivas said that a notice was served to Dr Shetty's Cosmetic Centre in the heart of Karnataka capital as they did not have permission to perform laser surgery.
"They've taken permission for a poly-clinic not for laser surgery. Bengaluru District Collector will hold a meeting with other officials and take action," he said.
