Dharwad DC interacts with students, reviews progress of ‘Mission Vidyakashi’

Deputy Commissioner of Dharwad Divya Prabhu G.R.J. visited several schools in Dharwad taluk on Friday to motivate teachers and students. She engaged in classes and also interacted with the students.

The visits were aimed at evaluating the progress of ‘Mission Vidyakashi’, an educational programme launched in Dharwad district to improve the passing percentage in SSLC examination.
The Deputy Commissioner first visited SJV High School in Uppina Betageri village, where she interacted with SSLC students and guided them on exam preparation, time management and having a systematic approach to studies.
Emphasising on the need for parents to ensure a distraction-free study environment at home, she advised parents to limit their own screen time and focus on supporting their children’s education. She also interacted with the parents and SDMC members.
Subsequently, at Government High School in Yadawad, addressing students and parents, she highlighted the intelligence of rural students while acknowledging their lack of confidence compared to urban students. Along with teaching academic subjects, instill self-confidence among students, she urged the teachers.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner ate the midday meal with the students and enquired about the quality of food served to them on a regular basis. She also inspected the school’s sanitation facilities and classrooms.
Meanwhile, local leaders leaders urged the Deputy Commissioner to recommend the establishment of a pre-university college in Yadawad for the benefit of students from Yadawad, Mulamuttal, and Lakmapur villages.
