Denied Rs 2,000 for birthday celebration, youth jumps into Ganga in UP's Varanasi; father dives in to save son

After being denied money to celebrate his birthday in Varanasi, a youth jumped into the Ganga from the Malviya bridge in Rajghat.
A youth jumped into river Ganga from the Malviya bridge in Rajghat after his father denied giving him money to celebrate his birthday in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. In an attempt to save his son, the father dove into the river after him. The father was rescued by sailors stationed beneath the bridge, but the son could not be traced.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
