A mother punished her eight-year-old daughter by tying her hands and legs on the roof of the house under a beating sun for not completing her homework. After the video of the incident went viral , Delhi Police said it has initiated action in the matter.
A video of an eight-year-old girl with her hands and legs tied, struggling under the scorching sun on the roof of a house in Delhi has gone viral on social media. An initial probe by Delhi Police revealed that the mother of the child had punished her for not completing her school homework.
At first, police received information that the video was from Karawal Nagar locality but police did not find anything related to the incident there. Later on, it was revealed that the video was from Khajuri Khas area, Tukmirpur and the house was tracked down.
In the video, the child can be seen tied with a rope on the roof of a house, struggling to set herself free amid the heat. The child can be heard screaming in pain as her skin is apparently burning due to the scorching heat.
The mother of the child told the police that she had punished her daughter for five to seven minutes for not completing her homework and later she brought the child down.
After the video went viral on social media, Delhi police informed that appropriate action has been taken. After efforts, the address and the family was traced by the police.
