Delhi: Two constables nab wanted thief after dramatic chase, recover pistol

Two constables of PS Prashant Vihar police station nabbed a wanted criminal after a high voltage and dramatic chase. The accused was wanted in eight criminal cases and a pistol was also recovered from his possession.

Delhi Police arrested a wanted criminal involved in eight cases from Japanese Park after a high-voltage drama and a dramatic chase in broad daylight. The two constables of Prashant Vihar Police Station nabbed Abhimanyu, a resident of Sector-1 in Rohini. Police also recovered a pistol with two cartridges and a stolen motorcycle from the possession of the accused.

Around eight criminal cases were filed against the accused at K N Katju Marg Police station who is also a drug addict, police said. Police officials noticed a boy stationed on a bike on the road leading to Crown Plaza Hotel on their patrolling duty. The officials saw the guy when they approached the gate of Japanese Park and when they questioned the man why he was standing there, he could not answer satisfactorily.

The accused was apparently looking astonished and tizzy and the police grew suspicious. Abhimanyu left the bike and started running in the opposite direction but the two constables chased him and he was finally caught.

During further interrogation, a pistol along with two live cartridges and a motorbike were recovered from his possession. When the police checked through Zonal Integrated Police Network (ZIPNET), a motorcycle was also found to be stolen from Sultan Puri, which was found with the accused. The accused is a drug addict and he committed crimes to fulfill his desires and live a lavish life.
