Delhi Police arrested an elusive criminal and an active member of a Mewat-based interstate gang of robbers, namely Rakesh Bhondu.

Rakesh was arrested on February 15 from Firni Road turning at Lado Sarai at MB Road, Delhi. He has been involved in a total of 5 criminal cases in Delhi and Haryana.
He was absconding in two cases, one of assault on police & attempt to murder of the year 2021 registered at Khyala and another pertaining to PS Raj Park of the year 2019 in Delhi.
The Special Cell received information about the movement of Rakesh in Lado Sarai area. Specific information was received that Rakesh would come near Firni Road turning Lado Sarai at MB Road, Delhi on February 15.
The team nabbed him and recovered one single shot pistol of 0.315 with 4 live cartridges recovered from him.
A case under arms act was registered in this regard.
Rakesh disclosed that he was absconding a case of assault on police by hitting the police vehicles and stone pelting.
