Deepika Padukone to Alia Bhatt, 5 iconic Holi looks we love from Bollywood movies. On Fashion Friday
India Today
In this week's Fashion Friday, we revisit some of the most memorable Holi looks from Bollywood movies.
It is Holi today - the day of smearing your loved ones with colours, devouring delicious Gujiyas, dancing your heart out and getting drenched due to water wars. A lot of people love celebrating the festival of colours in absolute style. While some enjoy embracing pristine whites, others clad themselves in a riot of colours to complement the festive vibe.
Over the years, Bollywood movies have also given us an array of remarkable Holi looks. After all, who can forget Rekha’s all-white suit in the song Rang Barse or Deepika’s uber-chic Balam Pichkari outfit! In this week’s Fashion Friday, we take a look back at some of our favourite Holi looks.
THE FUSION LOOK
Alia Bhatt rocked a neo-conventional look for a Holi scene in the film 2 States. The actress rocked a multi-hued traditional skirt but gave it a voguish spin by wearing it with a tank top. Open tresses and a stack of chunky silver bangles is what she chose to complete her look.
Interestingly, Alia’s look was also a major lesson on how to rock white and multicolour together for Holi.
THE PATIALA SUIT
A short white kurti with contrasting green Patiala salwar and a peppy pink dupatta. Sounds intriguing? Well, that’s the ensemble Aishwarya Rai Bachchan wore in the song Chhan Ke Mohalla from the film Action Replayy. Now, that’s one Holi look that lives rent-free in our heads.
