
Dawood Ibrahim forms special unit to target India; political leaders, businessmen on hit list: NIA

An FIR registered by the NIA has revealed that gangster Dawood Ibrahim has formed a special unit to target India, which poses a threat to famous personalities in the country.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has revealed that fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim has formed a special unit to target India. The names of political leaders and famous businessmen featured on the hit list, as per the probe agency.
The FIR revealed that Dawood Ibrahim along with his special unit was planning to launch an attack on the country using explosives and lethal weapons with the aim of inciting violence in different parts of the country. Apart from this, Dawood Ibrahim has his focus on Delhi and Mumbai, the probe agency said.
The ED had recently registered a money laundering case against Dawood Ibrahim and his aides for their involvement in financing terror activities. The ED will question Ibrahim's brother Iqbal Kaskar, his aides and gang members.
On Friday, Iqbal Kaskar was sent to ED custody till February 24 in a money laundering case.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
