
Cyberabad Commissionerate wins Data Security Council of India Excellence Award

Cyberabad Police wins DSCI Excellence Award for innovative cybercrime unit and efforts in cybersecurity and data protection.
The Cyberabad Commissionerate of Telangana State Police received the Data Security Council of India (DSCI) Excellence Award at the NASSCOM-DSCI Annual Information Security Summit in New Delhi.
The award was given for excellence in the capacity building of law enforcement agencies, recognising the contributions of the commissionerate’s cybercrime unit to cybersecurity and data protection.
Cyberabad police was recognised for its innovative and sustained efforts in addressing cyber threats and ensuring cyber safety through its dedicated cybercrimes Unit, which includes a cybercrime police station and Telangana Police Centre of Excellence (TGPCC).
Among the key innovations was the Crime OS Tool developed by TGPCC, designed to streamline investigations, reduce manhours and provide analytics for predicting trends and tailoring resources effectively. The commissionerate also launched CISO Council in October 2023, an initiative that brings in cybersecurity expertise from the private sector to strengthen responses to emerging cyber threats.
