Cyberabad Municipal Corporation reviews traffic issues and collaborates with police for enhanced road safety and infrastructure improvements.
The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) on Wednesday held a traffic convergence meeting with officials from the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate to review traffic management and road safety measures across the region. The meeting was attended by Cyberabad Municipal Commissioner G. Srijana along with Cyberabad Police Commissioner M. Ramesh and other senior officials.
Among the major concerns discussed were water stagnation points across several zones. Officials identified 20 such locations in Serilingampally, nine in Kukatpally, and nine in Quthbullapur. Police and civic engineering officials concerned have been directed to conduct inspections and undertake corrective measures to prevent recurring issues.
The meeting also deliberated on leveraging surveillance infrastructure for improved civic enforcement. With around 21,000 CCTV cameras currently under police control, officials explored the possibility of integrating access for monitoring sanitation, construction and demolition waste dumping, garbage vulnerable points and other municipal violations. The corporation has also offered to install additional cameras in coordination with the police, if required.
Addressing infrastructure gaps, the Chief Engineer was instructed to work with the police to identify areas with inadequate street lighting and take steps to ensure comprehensive coverage. The Chief City Planner has been tasked with coordinating with multiple departments to obtain a list of critical locations from the police, prepare a schedule for removal of encroachments, and implement road widening and footpath improvement works in a phased manner, said a release.
