ACB arrests two Osmania University staff for accepting a ₹13,000 bribe to process pension paperwork.
Two employees of Osmania University were arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau on Wednesday (April 1) for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹13,000 to process pension-related paperwork.
The accused, identified as K. Ramesh, a junior assistant in the Pay Bill Section, was apprehended while accepting ₹13,000 from a complainant. The amount was taken both for himself and on behalf of a senior assistant, Aravind, in return for facilitating the submission and processing of the complainant’s mother’s pension benefits file.
The agency said the tainted cash was recovered from Ramesh at his instance, and chemical tests confirmed the presence of the bribe on his hands.
The accused were arrested and will be produced before the special court for SPE and ACB cases in Nampally for judicial remand. The case remains under investigation, with the identity of the complainant withheld for security reasons.
