Around 20 elderly persons aged between 66 to 79 of Chatric Khullen village in Manipur's Kamjong district have learned English words and other subjects for the first time during the Covid-19 lockdown.
While many people across the country have faced a lot of problems and are struggling for their livelihood in the second wave of Covid-19 and lockdown, it has brought the gift of education for a few of the elderly residents of a remote village in Manipur’s Kamjong district along Indo-Myanmar border. Around 20 elderly persons aged between 66 to 79 of Chatric Khullen village a remote village about 40 km from the Kamjong district headquarter, have learned English words and other subjects for the first time during the Covid-19 lockdown. “My name is Shoknaola, I am fine thank you, I am 69 years old” “My name is Ringaila, I am fine thank you, I am 79 years old” said the elderly students when questioned by teachers in the classroom.More Related News
