After a Delhi court ordered Manish Sisodia’s release in the Delhi excise policy scam case, an emotional Arvind Kejriwal broke down in front of cameras, saying he had earned only honesty through his hard work. He urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi not to topple governments for power, but to remain in office by serving the people.
“Court verdict is evidence of my innocence. Truth always wins,” Kejriwal said, breaking down and urging that the Constitution not be turned into a joke. He questioned why the BJP could not come to power by offering real solutions to issues such as corruption, unemployment and pollution, instead of trying to topple an elected government.
The court flagged a lack of evidence against Kejriwal, observing that serious allegations must be backed by material and that attributing a central conspiratorial role cannot be sustained without proof. It added that public confidence in constitutional offices is undermined when prosecution claims lack supporting evidence.
While discharging Sisodia, the court held that the prosecution’s case did not withstand judicial scrutiny and found no material indicating criminal intent on his part. It observed that the documents, read alongside witness statements, pointed to administrative deliberations rather than wrongdoing.

India on Monday said it has not held bilateral talks with the United States on deploying naval vessels to secure merchant shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. The clarification came after US President Donald Trump urged countries to send warships to keep the strategic waterway open amid tensions with Iran.
