In view of rising coronavirus cases, the Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government on Wednesday extended the night curfew timings by one hour in eight worst-affected districts.
In view of rising coronavirus cases, the Ashok Gehlot-led Rajasthan government on Wednesday extended the night curfew timings by one hour in eight worst-affected districts namely Ajmer, Bhilwara, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota, Udaipur, Sagwada (Dungarpur) and Kushalgarh (Banswara), according to an official release. Also, markets in urban areas across the state will shut down 9 pm instead of 10 pm, the release said. Apart from these eight cities, the night curfew will also be imposed in Chittorgarh and Abu Road (Sirohi), according to the release.
As per the Bill, those involved in unlawful conversions on the pretext of marriage will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and shall also be liable for a fine of Rs 1 lakh. Violations in respect of a minor, a person of unsound mind, a woman or a person belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe will be punished with imprisonment of seven years and a fine of Rs 5 lakh.
