Collector K. Senthil Raj handed over ‘corner chairs’ to 65 children with cerebral palsy at a cost of ₹ 1.85 lakh, which has been released from his discretionary fund.
These chairs will help these kids gain control of posture, spinal column straightening, head control, maintaining leg posture and avoid deformity,” he said.
The Collector handed over these chairs to mothers of the children and clarified many doubts raised during an interaction. As the mothers wanted ‘standing chairs’ for their children, he assured them that they would get them soon.
He promised to address their grievances like additional physiotherapist at Tiruchendur, commutation help from Aathoor, social benefits for single parent with mentally retarded children.
“Though it is a small help, I am happy and touched by the gratitude of the parents,” the Collector observed.
The person behind handing over the ‘corner chairs’ to these children with special needs, Rajaselvi, district SSA coordinator for differently abled children, was present.
