Delhi Congress protests against Mother Dairy milk price hike, demanding rollback due to soaring prices under BJP government.
The Delhi Congress on Monday staged demonstrations outside Mother Dairy booths across the Capital in protest against the recent price hike of ₹2 per litre of Mother Dairy milk. Delhi Congress workers, with placards in their hands demanded the immediate roll back of the hike.
Speaking during the protest, Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav said that during the Congress regime, a litre of Mother Dairy milk would cost ₹48, but ever since the BJP came to power at the Centre, milk prices have soared by 44% to cost ₹69 per litre now, making it unaffordable for the common people to consume on a daily basis.
“Increase in the prices of all essential commodities have already made life miserable for the common people under the BJP government, both at the Centre and in Delhi. They has been working only to protect the interest of the rich while robbing the pockets of the poor with frequent increase in the prices of essential commodities,” Mr. Yadav said.
