Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury has been booked for grabbing a policeman’s collar during a protest in Hyderabad over Rahul Gandhi’s ED questioning in the National Herald case.
A case has been registered against Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury and Telangana Congress chief Revanth Reddy under Sections 151, 140, 147, 149, 341, 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharge of his duty) of the Indian Penal Code, said Niranjan Reddy, inspector of Punjagutta police station.
The agitation was organised as part of “Chalo Raj Bhavan” call given by the Congress to protest Rahul Gandhi's questioning by the ED in the National Herald case.
A video that is being widely shared by netizens shows Chowdhury arguing with policemen as she was being dragged towards a police van.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
