Colonel Bainsla, man who led Gurjar agitation in Rajasthan, passes away

Gurjar community leader Colonel (rtd.) Kirodi Singh Bainsla passed away on Thursday in Jaipur after a prolonged illness.
Colonel (Retd.) Kirori Singh Bainsla, the man who spearheaded Gurjar agitation for reservation in Rajasthan for over a decade, has passed away.
Bainsla, convener of Gurjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti, had been indisposed for a long time.
Colonel Bainsla is survived by his son, Vijay Bainsla, who has been an active member of the Gurjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti.
Bainsla, 85, had earlier tested positive for Covid19 twice, his son informed India Today. In November, 2020, Bainsla was diagnosed with Covid infection in the lungs and was admitted to Sawai Man Singh (SMS) hospital in Jaipur.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla expressed condolence on his demise. "Condolences on the demise of Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla ji, a strong leader of the social movement. He fought lifelong for social rights. May the departed soul rest in peace, my condolences to the family and supporters. Om Shanti," he tweeted.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot expressed his condolences over Bainsla's death.
