A college student in Lucknow attempted suicide after her hostel roommate allegedly issued a rape threat.
A college student in Uttar Pradesh's Lucknow attempted suicide after allegedly receiving a rape threat from her hostel roomate on Monday, following a dispute.
The BCom student allegedly consumed a poisonous substance after she was 'tortured' by her roomate and other students, who allegedly issued rape threats. The student was admitted to a private hospital for treatment.
The matter came to light after a video of the girl was shared by her friend on social media.

In the video she was heard saying that her roommate and some of her friends were threatening to throw acid on her and they were even threatening to rape her.
It is being alleged the girl had a fight with her hostel roommate over a phone conversation after which her roommate threatened to throw acid on her.
Meanwhile, the Lucknow Police has initiated a probe into the alleged suicide bid.
