Annamayya district Collector Sridhar Chamakuri directed officials on Sunday to focus on addressing the drinking water shortage problem in the district.
He asked the officials to devise an action plan immediately to ensure a stable drinking water supply to areas facing shortage. He also told the officials to ensure proper chlorination at supply points.
The Collector stressed the need to set up water kiosks at the village and mandal levels for the public and urged NGOs and donors to work in that direction.
Mr. Sridhar directed the field staff to collect funds for NTR Bharosa pensions in advance in view of bank holidays on March 30 and 31 and ensure prompt disbursement of pensions from 7.00 a.m. onwards on April 1.
Later, during a video conference with the officials, the Collector discussed key issues, including addressing public grievances, NREGA-related concerns, and the housing scheme. Officials from the Rural Water Works, Panchayat Raj, and APSPDCL attended.
In view of the hot summer, the Collector directed the officials of the agriculture and horticulture departments to support livestock farmers by encouraging the cultivation of green fodder on approximately 10,000 acres across the district.
