
Citizens of Maharashtra’s Thane, Palghar asked to remain alert amid heavy rain prediction

The Thane and Palghar administrations in Maharashtra have asked citizens to remain alert after the Regional Meteorological Centre predicted heavy rainfall for the Konkan region over the next three days.
The Thane and neighbouring Palghar administrations have asked citizens to remain alert in the wake of heavy rainfall prediction by the Regional Meteorological Centre for the Konkan region over the next three days. The collectors of the two Maharashtra districts, in separate orders issued on Monday night, appealed to people not to venture into rivers, lakes and other water bodies in the next few days and also avoid travelling, unless absolutely necessary.
A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.

According to the police, 19-year-old Sachin Dharmendrabhai Chaudhary, who works as a labourer, had borrowed the money before expressing his inability to repay it immediately, police said. He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
