Rahul, a 19-year-old man from Chennai, was hacked 30 times by a man armed with a sickle on the night of May 18. Three men have been arrested by the police in connection with this.
A Chennai man was brutally hacked 30 times by an assailant armed with a sickle on the night of May 18. Now, CCTV footage of the incident has emerged, and it has gone viral.
The visuals show the 3 men surrounding the victim at night, in Chennai’s Korukupet on May 18.
The video shows one of the assailants hacking the victim with a sickle around 30 times. While this is happening, a man walks past them without even noticing the murder.
Police, after conducting an investigation, identified the victim as 19-year-old Rahul from Harinarayanapuram, in Chennai’s Old Washermenpet area.
Based on the CCTV footage, police arrested Gowrishankar, Saravanan and Rahman.
According to police sources, Rahul had taken Rs 20,000 from the perpetrators to buy drugs. However, he didn’t live up to his commitment. Outraged by this, the gang decided to murder Rahul.
CCTV footage from near where the murder happened shows Rahul being chased by the two men while one of them hacked Rahul 30 times.

He was allegedly threatened with his life over the delay in repayment. Fearing for his life, Sachin immediately alerted the police.
