YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy urges party cadres to protest against NDA government failures, focusing on specific issues.
YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy called upon the party cadres to channelise the dissent against the NDA government into an agitation in order to highlight its failures.
Addressing a meeting of YSRCP leaders from Anantapur district on Thursday, Mr. Jagan said the discontent among the public about the performance of the ruling coalition increased manifold in six months.
The YSRCP should take the government’s failures to the people, he exhorted, and outlined the party’s roadmap for protests with focus on specific issues.
On December 27, the YSRCP plans to stage protests against the hike in electricity charges, wherein the electricity bills will be burnt. The party will take to the streets against pending fee reimbursement amounting to ₹3,900 crore on January 3.
“These protests are not about politics, they are about standing with the people in these difficult times,” Mr. Jagan emphasized.
Regarding the plight of farmers, Mr. Jagan pointed out how the TDP had dismantled essential agricultural initiatives, like free crop insurance and Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs). “Farmers are forced to sell produce at lower rates as the government failed to fix Minimum Support Prices. We must rally behind them and bring their struggles to the forefront,” he added.

Over the decades, the Anglo-Indian Grand Christmas Ball in Chennai has stepped into many venues, from Railway enclaves to private halls. It has left an indelible mark on some of these venues, Faiz Mahal and Shiraz Hall, both in Egmore, counted among them. This Christmas Day (December 25), Faiz Mahal is playing host to yet another Grand Christmas Ball. The soiree is organised by Anglo-Indians but by no means restricted to them. In these times of dwindling Anglo-Indian presence even in enclaves with a distinctive Anglo-Indian flavour, this event signifies an effort to preserve a cultural tradition that has enriched Chennai
