The Union government “must act fairly,” the Minister said in a social media post, and reiterated Tamil Nadu’s demand for 50% devolution, adding that many other States too supported the idea of increased devolution to States.
“Tamil Nadu already receives less than what it deserves, and now, the Finance Panel is likely to recommend cutting states’ share further from 41% to 40% as suggested by the Union governemnt. Is this how performing States are rewarded,” Mr. Thennarasu asked.
