CCTV cameras to be installed at cremation grounds in Patna to check price gouging

Patna Municipal Corporation has now decided to install CCTV cameras at all the three major cremation sites in the city to keep a check on price gouging.

Following complaints regarding people demanding exorbitant amounts to cremate a Covid-19 body, Patna Municipal Corporation has now decided to install CCTV cameras at all the three major cremation sites in the city to keep a check on price gouging. PMC Commissioner Himanshu Sharma has directed the installation of CCTV cameras at Bans ghat, Gulbi ghat and Khajekala ghat to keep a close watch on the cremation of Covid-19 bodies. As India continues to see a surge in the Covid-19 cases, all the three crematorium points are working round the clock to conduct the last rites of the people dying from the virus.
