The CBI has told the Bombay High Court that the special CBI court was right in refusing bail to Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor's wife Bindu Kapoor and daughters Roshini and Radha Kapoor in an alleged case of cheating and corruption.
At a hearing at the Bombay High Court, the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) on Wednesday stood by the special CBI court's order in refusing bail to Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor's wife Bindu and daughters Roshini and Radha in an alleged case of cheating and corruption.
Appearing for the CBI, advocate Hiten Venegaokar argued that the special court was merely securing the presence of the accused for the purpose of trial, which is why the accused were remanded to judicial custody. He added that rejection of bail was a discretion of the special court and hence the bail was rejected on merits.
